Transmittance
The HC-SW-series is especially designed for near-infrared and short wavelength infrared (SWIR) applications.

Incorporating Kowa's special coating technology, the 1″ format HC-SW lens series will maintain high transmission from 800nm to 2.000nm with sharp pictures from the center to the corner.

Some applications are better done in SWIR than in the visible light.

In SWIR, water vapor, fog and some materials such as silicone are transparent. Besides that, colors that look identical in the visible spectrum can be differentiated using SWIR. Thus, SWIR cameras with SWIR lenses are used for applications such as solar cell inspection, electronic board inspection, fruit inspection and night surveillance.
